Extended Tours
Sometimes, a day in the Wine Country is just not enough.
Have VinoVan Wine Tours arrange a complete, several night Wine Country experience for you.
The length and depth of the tour can be adjusted to fit just about any budget, and, as are all of our tours, is completely flexible.
Overview:
A possible scenario for a group tour would include picking you and your friends up at the airport (either Oakland or San Francisco), and whisking you off to the Wine Country.
Time permitting, we would get you checked into your accommodations and then visit a winery or two. Before going to dinner, VinoVan Wine Tours would provide a ‘get acquainted’ wine tasting including some very special wines. Dinner would then be enjoyed at one of Napa Valley’s finest restaurants.
Our first full day would be spent wine tasting and touring in Napa. While there a few ‘must see’ wineries that are open to the public, we would also visit a couple of boutique wineries that are visited ‘by appointment only’.
The second full day of your wine experience would be an open day. Most of our customers, even after the best of touring and tasting days, can get a little ‘wined out’. So, we would offer an open day in which golf, shopping, spa visits, or just plain relaxing could be enjoyed. We would, of course, assemble for dinner and have another fine dining experience that evening.
The third day of your incredible tour would be a Sonoma Wine Experience. We would leave Napa and travel through the Sonoma Valley (a.k.a. The Valley of the Moon) and eventually into the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys for some very special touring and tasting. The end of the day would bring us back to Napa for another incredible dining experience.
A multi-day tour in more of an itinerary form:
Day One
Morning: Arrive Oakland or SFO; collect luggage; transport to Wine Country accommodation
Afternoon: Check in at Wine Country accommodation; Lunch, Winery visit(s) as time permits - Return to lodging and refresh for dinner
Evening: - Private wine tasting courtesy of VinoVan Wine Tours (Varietals dependant on Tour Groups’ preference) - Dinner at a local premier restaurant - Return to accommodations for well earned rest
Day Two
Morning: Assemble for breakfast in hotel lobby or nearby breakfast location - After breakfast, depart for special appointment wine tasting visits at two to three Napa wineries.
Afternoon: Picnic lunch at a winery - Two more winery visits - Return to lodging and refresh for dinner
Evening: Dinner - Return to accommodation for well earned rest
Day Three
An open day for golf, spa treatments, shopping, or general relaxation. If some members of the group wanted to go wine tasting, then they would be accommodated. Evening: Dinner - Return to accommodation for well earned rest
Day Four
Morning: Assemble after breakfast for a Sonoma Wine Tasting Experience.
Day Five
Back to the airport for your return home.
Note: This sample tour can easily be expanded by a day (or days). For instance, day two of your package is a flexible day that could be eliminated to streamline the package. Prime accommodations and restaurant reservations tend to fill up certain times of the year - especially on weekends. Over night stays of Sunday through Thursday night are optimum.
